Winter Queen

Behold the Winter Queen sweeping across the frozen hills
In Her chariot of ice drawn by four snow white horses
Oh the pale lips, almost blue that smile sinisterly
As though wreaking havoc was Her only passion
So it is she whispers with icy breath
That I should bring the freeze for the land
And cover everything natural thing with My white blanket
Her kiss divine, frozen in death’s respite
No safe haven for those who dare
To walk the lonely roads of night
Only the silver moon is witness
To all Her dangerous glory
That too soon melts away in the Spring’s first rush of rain
